I'm sorry your cat passed, but at least she had 3 good years being loved. Cecil's last procedure went well and he's back at his forever home. He hissed at me for the first time when I put him in the carrier for that last time! It hurt my feelings a little, but then I was the one who dragged him to the AMC time after time! :) The procedure cost twice what they initially told me, so any and all donations are appreciated. The "Network for Good" link is on the left. Thanks for following Cecil's story!

I'm really glad that Cecil had a successful operation, and found a home. I had a sweet orange girl cat (that I found at about 2 weeks) who also did not have eyelids. Unfortunately, when they did surgery at the Animal Medical Center (this was in 1991) they discovered she also had been born with kidney failure. She lived to be 3, with daily infusions, and was very happy.

I would be happy to contribute a few dollars for his upcoming procedure if it's needed.

I would adopt The Kid Next Door and Cecil if I didn't keep the two orphaned kitties I bottle fed and have my 15 year old tabby (in a 300 sq ft mobile home). We have always adopted the kitties no one else wanted. My grandmother cared for 3 dozen neglected, abandoned, abused cats that found their way to her (my mother cares for them now). I would have more if I the space.

Lisa,
I'm saddened to learn Auggie died. With today's advances people and pets still die from something we too often dismiss as the "runs". I'm curious if Auggie's stool was positive for Clostridium difficile?? Salmonella?? Shigella??? I get FDA warning automatically, and have looked up a few things. Bayer manufactures "Baytril" (enrofloxacin) which is given in pill form frequently to cats and dogs. (Bayer states, "injection for Dogs Only. Do Not use injection for cats"..!!)... BUT, for DECADES, the FDA has refused to allow Bayer to put "Baytril" (enrofloxacin) into feed for animals to be used for human consumption. Their reason is the risk of antobiotic resistent Campylorbacter Enteritis. (Bayer keeps trying because they are more interested in profits.) Could Auggie be among the victims of an emerging antibiotic resistent infection?? Could he be an early warning?? Thank God for your efforts and love of animals.
